Description
The Ultimaker S5 is built around independent dual extrusion, so it can print soluble support beside a structural filament and leave complex overhangs and internal cavities without manual support removal. An enclosed, actively heated chamber holds nylon, PC and composites steady through the print, and interchangeable print cores switch the same machine between fine detail and high flow without a full hotend swap. Active bed levelling checks the plate before every job, and a 330 × 240 × 300 mm volume takes multi-part assemblies or larger single prints. It is aimed at professional and light-industrial use, with reliability and material range ahead of raw speed, and Wi-Fi plus Ethernet for fleet management. Unlike most desktop FDM machines, the S5 runs on 2.85 mm filament rather than 1.75 mm, which matters when stocking spools or moving from a smaller printer in the same fleet. The two print cores can push up to 24 mm³ of material per second combined, and the system draws up to 500 W to hold chamber and cores at working temperature.
